Graham Construction Management is based in Lanarkshire, Scotland and has over 25 years management experience within the construction industry. We realise our activities can have an impact on the environment and for this reason our Environmental Policies and Procedures aim to protect the environment at all stages of a projects life cycle.

We are focused on improving Sustainable Construction. This strategy represents a commitment to work towards a vision of reducing carbon footprint and consumption of natural resources, while creating a safer and stronger industry by training and retaining a skilled and committed workforce.

An important aspect of our Environmental Policy is to increase environmental awareness on the projects and therefore increase understanding of environmental issues. Over the last year GCM Ltd has been educating its workforce to ensure we achieve our targets. We monitor this via close supervision, auditing and feedback. Our Health, Safety and Environment issues are always at the top of our agenda.

To deliver our strategy we have devised S.M.A.R.T. targets throughout our business with procedures in place to monitor progress. We strive to promote best practice; supply resourceful, efficient, sustainable, resilient design; enhance our capacity to innovate; ensuring waste minimisation from the best option which is to prevent / eliminate, to reducing, reusing, recycling and only as a lost resort disposing.

Our goal is to promote our commitment to Sustainability / Energy Efficiency throughout the supply chain therefore ensuring prosperity and a better world for all.

We have implemented effective changes to site operations such as the example below:
• allowing time for waste management planning
• providing staff with training in waste reduction and health and safety
• selecting a secure storage area to protect materials from accidental and weather damage
• separating wood waste to avoid contamination
• arranging transport for collection of waste
